This particular Days Inn was to be situated adjacent to the recently completed motorway service area amenity building, so there needed to be some design synergy.
The result was a three storey 126-bedroom hotel built in two blocks with a two storey glazed atrium in the centre and glazed external staircases at each end.
In order to reduce the impact of noise, we sited it obliquely to the A1(M), and provided significant construction savings by adding a third storey and reducing the overall footprint.
