Riverside Place

A sustainable drainage system currently promoted as a demonstration site

Client:
Taylor Woodrow

Location:
Stamford, Lincolnshire

Services:
Architecture

Located in the heart of the conservation area of Stamford, adjacent to the River Welland, lays this prestigious riverside development.

JWA were responsible for the design and development of the project and assisted in the site assembly to enable 6,688m² (72,000ft²) of luxury residential homes and apartments to be built.

There were major complications including flood risk, gas migration, contamination and major service infrastructure relocation requirements. These issues were all the more complex because of the conservation area status.

However, by working hand-in-hand with the local planning and conservation officers, planning consent was granted, culminating in a highly successful redevelopment of the site – including one of the largest urban sustainable drainage proposals to be undertaken in the UK at that time.
